Thornton Village Historic District

THORNBURY TOWNSHIP
Thornton Village Historic District is a national historic district located at Thornbury Township, y. The district includes 13 contributing buildings in the crossroads village of Thornton. The oldest building, the Yellow House, dates to about 1750, with most of the remainder dated between about 1790 and 1855. The next oldest house is the Isaac Pyle House, built about 1777. In addition to the Yellow House, the district includes one commercial building, seven residence, a converted blacksmith shop, a converted barn, three stables or carriage houses, and two frame sheds. A number of the house are in the Federal style.
